I am not sure what would befall you if you were in a forum with marketers and when it is your time to give your opinion about the most successful marketing strategies of today, you fail to mention Social Media Marketing. You probably would get a few mummers and lots of sharp looks telling you that you are leaving behind the most important of the strategies that there are today. If you are not sure about that, just take a look at the number of internet marketers that have turned to this method.
Statistics show that there are more than five hundred million people visiting Facebook and Twitter only every day. These two are only the largest and most widely used social media websites. You should note that there are hundreds of other less popular social websites. That means there are more than five hundred million people that go to such websites. Of more importance is even the fact that these people spend a considerably long period of time on these websites. These facts are what have led to the mad rush of internet marketers to social media marketing.
In addition to the large number of people that the marketers are able to reach through social media, they also get the advantage of being able to track what other people are saying about the products they deal with. They are also able to track the activities of their competitors. This way, they can better strategize on how to overcome the stiff competitions that keeps growing with every passing day. They also get a lot of information that enables them to improve their products for better marketability.
An encouraging fact is that Social Media Marketing is efficient and effective for both large businesses and the small one as well. The biggest advantage is that there are no high costs involved in setting up this method of marketing. However, you will need to dedicate lots of time and have a good strategy in place for you to succeed.
You also need to be very careful when using this kind of marketing. Keep it in mind that most of the people who visit such websites do it seeking fun. Putting through to them a promotional message or an advert of your product is very undesirable. This may lead to potential customers developing a negative attitude towards the product hence producing results opposite to what you intended. Unsolicited messages may also be penalized. So make sure that the information you put through is solicited and assume an informative tone rather than a promotional one.

Mention online marketing today and what will hit the minds of many people is social media marketing. In fact if you happen to attend any forum where the subject of marketing comes up and you fail to mention the numerous advantages of social media marketing, you risk getting frowned at. Marketers all over the world have, in a great number, turned to this new method of marketing. But what exactly has given marketing over social media the popularity it has recently earned?
This technique utilizes social sites such as Facebook and Twitter to reach its target audience. Statistics have it that every day over five hundred million people visit such websites and spend a considerably good amount of time on them. Now that is a large number, one that would be difficult to reach through any other media. This is great number of potential customers is what has made markets go crazy over marketing using social media.
With new companies springing up every day, businesses are faced with stiff competition that is increasingly becoming tougher. The use of social media is giving businesses a powerful tool to effectively compete in such a competitive environment. The advantage is that a business that is using social media is able to track what people are saying not about it but also about its competitors. As an added bonus, social media links can help your SEO efforts as well.
Think of it this way; you are in a race and you get this tool that enables you to locate where you are on the track, know how many competitors are ahead of you, how many fall behind you and even what each is doing or planning. You get charged up and can easily come up with strategies to help you reach the finishing line ahead of everyone.
It does not really matter the type of business you run or its size. Social media gives every business an equal opportunity and it is up to the company’s management to come up with the right strategies. The important thing is to first establish the objectives of your marketing. With the objectives in mind, you can then move on to draw up a strategy on how to use social media to achieve the objectives. This is something that small and large businesses can do alike.
You can now see how great social media marketing can be and you probably are thinking such a powerful tool must be very involving to set up. The truth is; it is not. Social media marketing can be started by simply having a Facebook, Blog, or Twitter account and start by engaging people in interesting and informative short sessions. It is that simple as well as cheap. Like many other marketing strategies, you can then develop it to reach a wider audience and to achieve several other business objectives.

Posted by SEO Inc – Social Media Links are helping SEO!

Is it true? Could it be? Are social media links actually starting to affect SEO? Well if Google Webmaster tools’ reporting is any indication of link recognition, then yeah, they are. But before we jump to conclusions, let’s elaborate on the topic a bit.
We are now seeing that links which are present in Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn posts are being recognized in Webmaster tools as external links to the domain which the Webmaster tools account is tracking. This is a new development. So what does this mean for search engine optimization and social media?
We already know that Google is a huge proponent of social media. In fact, Matt Cutts, the head of web spam at Google, has stated on multiple occasions that one great way to succeed in SEO is to create a blog and push those blog posts out through social media profiles (learn more about this here). So we know that Google wants social media to succeed. We also know that this tactic works excellent in the search space already, in fact, we have helped many clients establish this relationship. But what does this all mean from an external linking perpective? This is missing piece.
Well, in my opinion it means simply this: Google is recognizing theses links as they would any other inbound link. But here are some things to keep in mind. These links are no follow links and they do not have anchor text. So they are not a huge help for search engine optimization. But there is more to consider.
